A tribute to the great American actor and director for his style.

Scatola del Tempo, a prestigious Italian company, creator of the rotating watch holder, has wished to offer Forest Whitaker an acknowledgement as a protagonist of world cinema of the highest caliber.Forest Whitaker was awarded as a man of style by Scatola del Tempo during an exclusive interview at the Four Seasons in Los Angeles. He was in fact mentioned by the American edition of Vogue as one of the most elegantly attired men at the last Oscars ceremony.
Let us not forget that Forest Whitaker, a Texan who grew up in Los Angeles, received the Golden Globe in 2007, a BAFTA and the much coveted Oscar statuette as Best Actor in a leading role in Kevin MacDonald’s movie, The Last King of Scotland (2006). In it, he played Ugandan president Idi Amin Dada, a man accused of genocide and cannibalism, a figure also inspired by African dictator Bokassa. Today Whitaker is unanimously recognized as a genius of acting and his exchange rate is constantly on the increase in commercial Hollywood. Even when he is grim and brutal, his most hopeless and cruel roles have an extraordinary realism.
SCATOLA DEL TEMPO
Scatola del Tempo originates at the end of the ‘80s, thanks to the vision of a collector, Sandro Colarieti, who sought watch holders worthy of the quality of his collection. He decided to create his own, employing expert craftsmen and first-rate materials.
After having produced a small series, for himself and as a homage to his friend, he started receiving commissions from other collectors and from producers. Thus, Scatola del Tempo was born, today appreciated and known worldwide with its very own, special idea of what constitutes a watch case. In 1990 rotating watch holders saw the light for the first time, designed to guarantee to maintain automatic watches in charge, so as to keep not just the time, but also the date.Sandro Colarieti then created the 1RT model, the prototype for a long series which enjoyed an immediate success, to the point that it was also used by some of the greatest Swiss Houses of Horology. For instance, Patek Philippe has endorsed such devices for its own models for over 15 years. The watch winders are equipped with a high precision micro-motor and controlled by a micro-processor. They can rotate both clockwise and anti-clockwise, keeping any automatic movement within the device in full charge for over a year. The engines are Swiss produced but the final assembly takes place in Italy, likewise the quality control on finishing materials and the functioning of mechanical parts. A great heritage has been left behind by Sandro Colarieti as well as a hefty responsibility for the future.
This is why Scatola del Tempo wishes to become increasingly more visible on an international level with an important line of excellent rendezvous, such as the one which took place during the 50th Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto (Andy Garcia and Terry Gilliam), followed by the American Cinematheque award in Los Angeles, the reward to George Lucas and just now this one to Forest Whitaker .
