Scatola del Tempo rewards Gabriele Salvatores

Scatola del Tempo, the prestigious Italian company and creator of rotating watch holders, has awarded director Gabriele Salvatores for his return to comedy after twenty years, with movie Happy Family (2010).

Salvatores received the award in Los Angeles, during the Festival Los Angeles, Italia (February 28 /March 6).
Born in Naples, he studied at the Accademia del Piccolo Teatro in Milan. Salvatores made his debut as theater director in 1972; in 1989 he directed Marrakech Express, which was followed in 1990 by Turné. In 1991 Salvatores won an Academy Award as best foreign film with Mediterraneo. The movie also won three David di Donatello and a Silver Ribbon. In 1992, he released Puerto Escondido and the following year he directed Sud.  A new experimental period started in 1997 with Nirvana, a science fiction movie, followed by Denti ("Teeth", 2000), and Amnèsia (2002). Io non ho paura of 2003 was  a great success. In 2005 he directed the noir Quo Vadis, Baby?.
