Scatola del Tempo rewards Andy Garcia, Terry Gilliam and Francis Menotti in Spoleto

Scatola del Tempo, a prestigious Italian company credited with the birth of rotating watch holders, has this year awarded three main players in the field of international artistic and musical excellence, during the Festival dei Due Mondi (June 29th – July 15th).

Thus, at the Frau Terrace in Spoleto, three exclusive watch holders carrying the renowned manufacturer’s mark have been presented to Andy Garcia, Terry Gilliam and Francis Menotti during the course of the Festival’s crowded opening press conference.

This year’s Festival dei Due Mondi, at the 50th year from its birth, has hosted Andy Garcia taking on the mantle of actor, director and musician, thanks also to Silvia Bizio, director of the film festival Cinema Italian Style in Los Angeles and consultant to the SpoletoCinema event.
The first European performance of Andy Garcia and his band, the CineSon All Stars, an excellent ensemble made up of eight musicians of Cuban origins, has sold out during the course of their shows on July 1st and 2nd, ending with lengthy standing ovations from the audience, who’ve fully appreciated the exhilarating rhythm and unsuspected talent of the eclectic artist of Cuban heritage.
Andy Garcia’s movies have also been much appreciated by the public, especially ‘The Lost City’, focusing on the Havana at the time of the revolution. Alongside Ines Sastre, it has involved him both as actor and as director.
Great acclaim was also had by another guest of excellence at SpoletoCinema, the eclectic American director Terry Gilliam, with his retrospective including works such as Tideland, Twelve Monkeys, Brazil, and The Fisher King, shown within the 2007 edition.
And concerning Francis Menotti, President and Art Director of the Festival dei Due Mondi, celebrating its fiftieth year with an excellent programme containing a wealth of illustrious guests, Scatola del Tempo has wished to award him along with an artistic event of true excellence, which has privileged Italy with half a century of unsurpassed music and culture.
